R.P.Singh is back:-

Rudra Pratap Singh  pronunciation (help·info) (born 6 December 1985 in Purebala, Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, India ) is a left arm fast-mediumbowler who has represented India in one day cricket, T20 and Test cricket. He played for Kochi Tuskers Kerala in the 2011 IPL.

R.P. Singh first came in contention during the under-19 World Cup in Bangladesh in 2004, when he took eight wickets for a very impressive average of 24.75. He later performed consistently in the Ranji Trophy for Uttar Pradesh and impressive performances saw him earn a place in the ODI side in 2005.
In his third one-day match, Singh got his first man of the match award as he played his part as India restricted Sri Lanka to a modest 196 all out. Swinging the ball on a batting wicket, he took 4 important wickets to rattle Sri Lanka. His bowling figures of 8.5 overs, 2 maidens, 35 runs and 4 wickets announced his arrival on the international stage.
Singh was selected to make his Test debut in the 2nd Test against Pakistan in Faisalabad, Pakistan in January 2006. He won the man of the match award on his debut after taking 5 wickets in the match.
Singh's 4 wicket-haul in the fourth match of the one-day series against Pakistan in 2006, helped India take an unassailable 3-1 lead in the series, and won him the man of the match award. India went on to win the series 4-1. In his first 11 ODI matches, he was awarded the man of the match award 3 times.
Singh was favoured to Sreesanth for the 2006 ICC Champions Trophy due to his superior economy rate. However, he was unable to maintain his level of performance, and was dropped from the side.

In 2006 it was announced that Singh would be signing for English side Leicestershire as their second overseas signing. He was however unexpectedly recalled to the Indian side following their poor World Cup campaign and only made a handful of appearances.
Singh was included in the Test squad for the tour to England and performed well, taking 5/59 at Lord's his first five-wicket-haul in Tests. In the one-day series he took seven wickets at 31.71 from five matches.
Singh was selected to play in the 2007 ICC World Twenty20 tournament in South Africa in September 2007. Singh emerged as the second-highest wicket-taker in the entire competition, taking 12 wickets in 7 matches at an average of 12.66 runs per wicket. India won the 12-nation tournament after beating Pakistan in the final. R.P. Singh's best figures were 4/13 in 4 overs in India's final Super-8 stage match in which they eliminated South Africa from the tournament.

Singh was then selected for India's one-day home series against Australia and Pakistan that followed, playing four games in each series and picking up a total of 11 wickets.
He plays for the Kochi Tuskers in the Indian Premier League, after signing for them in 2011 from the Deccan Chargers. In his second season of the tournament, Singh was highly successful and he emerged as the highest wicket taker of the tournament, with 23 from 16 matches thereby winning the Purple Cap. Deccan Chargers emerged as winners of the tournament. His performance early in the tournament earned him a spot in the Indian squad for the 2009 ICC World Twenty20. He is also the leading all time wicket taker in Indian Premier League with 52 wickets.
He was bought for $600,000 by the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League Players Auction, 2012.
In August 2011 RP Singh was called up to the India squad for the remainder of the tour of England, he was recalled after a 3 year test absence due to an injury picked up Zaheer Khan which ruled him out of the tour.

Role of R.P.Singh in deccan charges:-

He called it quits from international cricket this year but Sri Lanka’s Chaminda Vaas remains an integral part of the Deccan Chargers’ bowling unit. The left-armer might have missed out during the Chargers’ first outing against Somerset CCC, but Vaas is excited to be part of the Bulls brigade.
Speaking on his international retirement, Vaas said, “You must know when to call it quits. It was important for me to make way for the youngsters in the team. And they are performing remarkably.”
When asked about his fitness levels since calling it a day, Vaas said, “I have been playing league games in Sri Lanka and that has kept me match fit and it is crucial. You just can’t walk into any form of the game without match fitness.”
Vaas is beaming with confidence when it comes to play for the Bulls. “It is quite exciting to be part of the Chargers unit. The best aspect of this team is that everyone wants to do well and we revel in each other’s success,” he said.
The Sri Lankan is quite confident of the Chargers show in the upcoming Champions League and pointed out that the conditions will play a key role in every team’s performances. “The conditions here will be different from what we have in other parts of the world. So, it will be interesting to see how the other teams adapt to that,” Vaas said.
Speaking about the cultural appreciation course that the Chargers had before the start of IPL-II, Vaas said, “It did wonders to the morale of the team. It broke the ice with the newcomers in the side. We all are one big family and this has helped us both on and off the field.”
On the bowlers to watch out for in the Champions League, Vaas picked up teammate Rudra Pratap Singh as his favourite.
“He (R.P. Singh) had a dream run in the IPL-II and has been amongst the wickets. If he gets the ball in the right areas, the batsmen could be in serious trouble. He is our trump card,” said the 111-Test veteran.
RP lived upto Vaas’ expectations picking three wickets for 23 runs in the Chargers’ first outing in the ongoing Champions League Twenty20 tournament.

RP Singh eyeing India comeback through Mumbai Indians:-

Indian Premier League's leading wicket taker, Rudra Pratap Singh, may have been out of favour in India's scheme of things but the left-arm pacer is hoping that season five of the T20 tournament will bring him back in the national reckoning.

The Mumbai Indians bowler, who has 56
wickets from four seasons in IPL, is eyeing a Team India comeback in September's ICC World T20 in Sri Lanka.
"IPL is huge. All the matches are important and I'm happy to have made an impact in the previous four editions. It gives one a big platform to perform against the world's best. I've been able to bounce back twice through IPL. This time also, I'm looking forward to it," he told PTI from Mumbai.
Talking on the sidelines of Mumbai Indians' practise at the Wankhede, the 26-year-old is not only working hard on his bowling but he is doing overtime at the nets, honing his batting skills to come in handy in the death overs.
"I am working out hard, following a strict schedule. I am raring to go. There are no fitness concerns. In T20, a bit of batting can also come in handy. I am working on my batting to contribute to the team's cause," RP said, referring to his teammates Harbhajan Singh and Lasith Malinga's exploits with the bat.
The left-arm pacer had successful stints with Deccan Chargers and Kochi Tuskers Kerala, with him winning the purple cap in season-II when he was with the Hyderabdi side.
The Mumbai side bought RP for USD 600,000 for IPL-V and the bowler said he feels really lucky to play with Sachin Tendulkar.
"What can I say about somebody who is the world's best batsman. I can just say that I'm lucky to play under him. I'm yet to speak to him after joining here. I'm looking forward to him."
He further said they have the top five IPL bowlers, besides boasting of a star-studded batting line-up.
"We are not stars, just players. It's a great dressing room. I know each of them. We have a balanced unit. I'm looking forward to contribute to the team's cause."
The Uttar Pradesh pacer had to go through a frustrating time in the last few months when he was rushed to England after Zaheer Khan's injury but only to be ignored for the Central Zone's team for Duleep and Deodhar Trophy.
He said he did not want to talk about selection matters.
"There will be ups and downs. But you will have to keep trying. Selection is not in my hands. I am just giving my best," he said.
